Celebrities and the Law of Attraction & Lyrics That I Love

Here is a compilation of my favorite videos (and lyrics) from well-known individuals speaking about how we attract what we desire. Desire is an extremely interesting word here because most of us only have a superficial understanding of what it means. We often make the mistake of thinking that what we desire lies only in what we are consciously aware of. That is not always the case. From my understanding, our desires are more deep-rooted in our];addictions (both good and bad). I recall working for a sales company, and one day we spent an entire meeting conversing about what things people can be addicted to.

As you might suspect, the very first thoughts that were quickly shouted out were addictions that are commonly negatively-perceived, or have a negative effect, such as drugs, alcohol, and gambling. But, after a few minutes of thinking, and once we noticed that there were clearly more that we had not considered people started to exclaim more positively-associated things, like happiness, money and success. We were having a very important conversation, and I recognized that it would be crucial for me to keep this information in mind. I have since watched an incredibly insightful, and visually stimulating, film titled What the Bleep Do We Know? and it all began to make more sense.

Most people write an intention, and then they erase it because they believe that they can’t do it. So, when they feel inspired again, they try again, but they feel silly because it goes against what they truly believe. What positive thinking is for most people is adding a little smear of positive thinking that is covering a whole mass of negative thinking. It’s like placing a small band-aid on a sink hole (I know that’s not the best example, but you got my point). I am guilty of doing this too. I have spoken about this in my blog on how I moved to California as a way to avoid my reality. I realized that toxic positivity is real, and that for most of us thinking positively is essentially disguising the negative thinking, rather than dissecting and alchemizing it. We must learn to remove the negative prompters by installing into our subconscious a group of positive prompters. We too often allow ourselves to get stuck in the sameness of reality, and view our reality as concrete. If we continue to think this way, then we detach ourselves from the truth that we can change our way of thinking, and improve our reality. Remember, if you start your day reciting the affirmation “I am going to have an amazing day,” but for the rest of the day complain about various events and groan about every obstacle, then you may believe that you deserve to have a great day, but that you do not believe that it will happen. You may expect that success should be yours, but that it won’t happen. As Uell Stanley Anderson suggests in his book Three Magic Words, “your faith must be with you at least 51% of the time before it will manifest in your experience.” When you expect it, you must accept that it can be.

Our bodies create different combinations of chemicals to produce different emotions, and so the more that you feel a certain emotion, the more you can become “addicted” to it. There are chemicals for every emotion that we experience, and when the pituitary releases a peptide into the bloodstream, it goes to different centers of the body (where we have many receptors), and sends a signal into the cell, which can actually change the nucleus of the cell. Nerve cells that fire together, wire together, and so if you practice something over and over again, then your nerve cells then have a long-term relationship. What this means for you is if you get angry on a daily basis, and you also provide a rationalization for your consistent anger, then you are rewiring your brain to continue this simulation—and in some cases replicate this in new cells. I enrolled in a course on Coursera about Positive Psychology where it was reiterated to me that emotions are neither good or bad, and that they can chemically reinforce something into long-term memory. So, when you deluge a cell with this consistently, and when it finally divides, you will then have more receptor sites for those particular emotional neuropeptides. Neuropeptides affect our current state of consciousness, emotions, feelings and behaviors. You should get the point by now. This is why simply manifesting a few times will not profoundly change your life or get you any closer to your whole higher and evolved self. Manifestation (in terms of the Law of Attraction) has become a trend, but the Laws of the Universe are immensely rich in life, and should be practiced as a lifestyle, not a get rich scheme, or a quick problem-solver.

I hope that you enjoy these videos, and song recommendations. I will likely write a post about what kinds of songs I listen to and why. As usual, I am simply sharing what I enjoy and what works for me. Please take what applies, and throw the rest away (or pass it on). Do your own research, and see what works for you :)
