About Self Growth Journals
My name is O'Shea Rene, and I am the creatress behind Self Growth Journals and GLO Guidance LLC. In 2016, I created GLO and SGJ to document my experience with leveling up, which included refining the details of my life that would result in improving my lifestyle and well-being. Over time, GLO became a space for women interested in upgrading their mindset and lifestyle and showing up as the best version of themselves.
I started creating journals in high school simply because I never found anything that could help me organize my thoughts well enough. While in college, as a Psychology student, I started a research study to help students to improve their wellbeing with my first published journal. From there, I recognized that with persistence and guidance, anyone can make small changes in their day to day life and mindset by just writing down their goals once a day. My journals, of course, consist of doing much more than that, but I tried to simplify them as much as possible to eliminate any overwhelming factors.
Self Growth Journals are a collection of y2k themed self-coaching journals, with the purpose of helping people use the transformative techniques developed through Positive Psychology. I am currently working on other 90s/2000's themes, such as Bratz/Barbie, Clueless, and more.
The most popular journal now is the Mean Girls Vision Board Journal. I wanted to create a journal that was based on something fun, like Mean Girls, but with a positive spin. Instead of bashing random people, or self-deprecating, I wanted to emphasize the importance of celebrating oneself and being hopeful for the future (but also taking action).
I have been actively "manifesting" for the last 5 years and have since moved to Los Angeles from Maryland, secured my dream jobs and work with amazing clients, work alongside millionaires in Real Estate, created a successful business and brand, lived in a luxury apartment, bought many designer items, been invited to travel, and beyond. This is absolutely NOT to brag (I have achieved much more than material things), but since most people are interested in manifesting specific things I wanted to share some of that. Most importantly, I have put in the work to be able to align with my most ideal self by:
(1) cultivating a strong confidence and faith in myself
(2) reading over 200 self-help books and over 100 self development/psychology studies and peer-review journals
(3) shadowed under millionaire mentors to develop a stronger mindset and healthier relationship to money
(4) putting myself out there and working towards my goals (even when I didn't see progress)
(5) changed my day to day rituals and habits to align with my goals ( I am not consistent every single day but most days)
(6) uncovering limiting beliefs that held me back from taking action
(7) so much more went into this, but if you're interested follow me @glo.guidance on Instagram where I share more.
